A topic cluster is an unstructured aggregate of materials on a particular issue or subject. When conducting research, qualitative political scientists invariably gather considerably more information than they ever carefully organize and analyze. The materials in the “everything else” box can be a windfall for other scholars who are addressing the same or a similar topic or searching for relevant background information.
While QDR’s holdings do not currently include a fully developed topic cluster (check back soon!), we direct users to consider a project being created by Sally Roever (WIEGO, Women in Informal Employment: Globalizing and Organizing), concerning street vendor politics in Lima, Peru: Negotiating Formality: Informal Sector, Market, and State in Peru.
